TO THE ELEOTOES of WAIRARAPA into two Electoral Districts, I beg to offer myself as a candidate to represent the Southern Division in the next Parliament. Having represented the Electors of the Wairarapa in five successive Parliaments, I with confidence ask you to again elect me, As soon as the Writs are out, I shall invite you to meet mo in the sevoral centres ol Your obedient servant, ' HENBYBUNNY. TO THE ELEOTOES of WAIRAEAPA n ENTLEMEN,In accordance with my already published intention, I now beg to offer myself as a candidate for tho representation of your district at the coming general' election. I cannot but regret the recent division of tho old electorates, and in this expression I feel satisfied public sympathy goes with me—not only in this, but in the the majority of other districts of the colony. Union, and not dißSonston, should be the watchward of all the sections of such a district as this, as well as of all its settlers, whether living in town or country. The widespread feeling which has recently arisen that if wo are to prosper as a colony we must uuito in developing the many natural resources which lio in abundance around us, has found its expression in the promineuco attained by the local government and other similar questions during last session of Parliament, Since becoming a settler amongst you, any services I may liavo been able to render in this direotion have always met with the most generous recognition; and 1 can only assure you I that, if elected, no effort on my part will be spared in assisting to place these alb important questions upon a satisfactory footing, Tho Native question requires more than passing notice. It is intolerable that the colony should be called upon to maintain a standing army at such a ruinous expendi ture, and To Whiti should bo sternly told (in deeds, and not in words), that his latest departure is in reality his last,

Upon the other various questions which will engine the attention of electors, I shall lie happy to explain my views at the sovoral centres of population in the electorate. While fi'eely acknowledging the important services rendered hy the Hall Government at a critical period of the colony's history, I sl)a}l decline to pledge myself to any party, hut will give my support in the direction best calculated to develope the material interests of tho country generally. I remain, Yours faithfully, W, C, BUCHANAN. TO MR, M. CASEIBERG, SIR,— We. the undersigned, Burgessos of the Borough of Masterton, invito.you to come forward as a Candidate for the Mayoralty, believing that your business experience and your well-known ability and honesty of purpose will enable you to discharge the duties of the office to the satisfaction of th« ratepayers : C. At tho requisition represents so very largo and influential a section of the Burgossos of Mastertou I have much pleasure in acceding to it, and if elected I promise to (kiny duty to tho best of my ability without fear or favor, and to work in uniß6n with the Councillors for tho good of the whole Borough and to conduct tho deliberations of the Council with propriety. My personal views aro well known to a large number of the requifcionißts, butnow. state for tho iufermation of other ratepayers that thoy arc emphatically and at the same time fbek from nECKLESSNEss, It will be my aim to assist in fostering such measures as will promote the substantial welfare and advancement of tho Borough so as to enable it to attain tho position its natural advantages warrants, At the same timo I will consider it my duty to counsel the ratepayers against uumaturcd schemes for reckless borrowing and expenditure, and will use my host endeavors to protect the Burgesses from being weighted down with excessive and burdensome rates, ' In conclusion.
