The Wellington preßS lias recorded during the past few days the doings of the Diocesan Synod. The recital has been a very dreary nne, and from it we can only learn that the members, lay and clerical, vole by order ou Diocesan bills of all kinds, and aie smothered with endless reports uf cmiimittees and troubled with records of all kinds of funds. That so vast and complicated a machinery should he necessary for the regulation of the woik of a small handful of clergymen is a matter nf wonder. In »ain have we Fonuht to utan from the rip rts some ■t.;in of interest winch would indicate real vitality in this "dry-as-dust" Parliament.
