The City Council last night appointed a committee of certain members to report upon the possibility of better arrangementi between the Council and the city solicitor. The proposal that the committee shall comprise the entir* Council wa< rejected, anany members being disinclined to accept the responsibility of investigating the accounts. , NATIVE AFFAIRS. The native scare is dying away, though the natives are still selling their cattle and effects to raise money for some purpose which is not yet disclosed.
