A> tho requisition represents so very large and influential a section of the Burgesses of Mastertou I have much pleasuro in acceding to it, and if elected I promiso to do my duty to the best of mv ability without fear or favor, and to work in unison with the Councillors for the good of the wholo borough and to conduct the deliberations of the Council with propriety. My personal views ape well known to a large number of the requitionists, but now state for the iufermation of other ratepayers that they arc emphatically proores-ive and at the same time hike from recklessness. It will be my aim to assist in fostering such measures is will promote the substantial welfaro and advancement of the Borough so as to enable it to attain the position its natural advantages warrants, At the same time I will wnaider it my duty to counsel the ratepayers against miniatured schemes for reckless borrowing and expenditure, and will use my best eudeavors to protect the Burgesses from being weighted down with excessive and burdensome rates.
