I thank yoii sincerely for the confidence you have hitherto reposed in me by twice denting mo one of your representatives. The Representation Act provides for the division of the Wairarapa electorate into two districts, viz., Wairarana North and Wairarapa S n utli. It is my intention to offer myself as a candidate for the northern division, I therefore avail myself of the present opportunity to assure the electors that, if elected, I shall ever consider it to he a pleasing duty to promote the interests of both electorates with which I hiive lo»g been so 'intimately connected. Again thanking you for the evidences of kindness and confidence which I havo always received at your hands, Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, GEORGE BEETHAM.

TO THE ELECTORS of WAIHARAPA NORTH. /1 ENTLEMEN,I have the honor to inform you that it is my intention to offer myself as a candidate for the representation ot your district at the approaching geueral election. I shall ask you to meet me at the various centres of the Electorate, in order to afford me opportunities for explaining fully my views on political questions of the day. I will not now attempt to do more than ask you to believo—if you think mo worthy of a continuance ot your confidence—that I shall Always endeavor, to the utmost of my ability, to assist in the material development of New Zealand generally, and especially that of Wairarapa, one of the most promising country districts of tlio Coloay. I remain, Youra faithfully GEOKUE BEETHAM.

TO THE ELECTOKS of WAIHARAPA As a working settler of twenty years, standing, I respectfully offer myself as a candidate to represent you in the new Parliament, Without wishing to raise any class cr?, I may state that in my opinion the time lias arrived when all classes of settlers should be represented. Hitherto llio small holders of property have not hid their share of representation. In my long and intimate acquaintance with the working of the laws under which we live, it has caused me often to feel that such a state of things ought not to exist. It is really no ust our burking I this question; all feel that a change is necessary. The large holders already have their representative, and we are entitled to ours. Although not altogether in favor of many actions of the preseni Government, yet believing as I do that unflinching economy is still necessary in tho adminißt a.ion of onr linances, I shall be prepared to give the Hall administration an independent support, reserving to myself the right to vote for, whatever I consider to be' for the benefit 61 the peoole and the 'advancement of the colony generally. ■• ." ; ,;,,,; ' With extended poweis, I believe;?, the County Councils, in conjunction with our Highway Boards, arc capable of -much good work, being fiimly of opihion' r that a Council comprised of; onr-fellow-settlers mnst necessarily be better acquainted with our requirements and''the management of local affairs than a Government official located at Wellington. ■.: .The generous amount of support promised to me. wherever 1 Have made my views known'has''encouraged me to ask for the honor of representing you. I own to no personal feeling in the coutest, but simply an' honorable ambition to serve my fellowsettlers. ' ■ ->. I "hope to meet you at'the various towns throughout South Waifarapa, and will then more fully explain my politiqalc're'ed^J'.v- . '■'■,.!<■. id ~:iY6W'iaiiu " »^^"; * ^
