[To the Editor of the Wairarapa Pailt.] . ;Sir, —I am astonished on reading the account!, passed for payment, at the -Borough Council to find that we had to import from Wellington ironwork, bolts, &c, that I should imagine could be supplied—and equally as cheap—by local tradesmen. Perhaps you can inform your readers how these things are worked; and whether tonders are, called for supplies of; this description. Possibly you could furnish the ratepayers with the information as to the oonneotion between the Chairman of the Publio Works Committee and Messrs Dawson and 00., of Wellington.
