CASTLEPOINT HIGHWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held at Tinui on Saturday last, Present—Mr Langdon (Chairman), and Messre Smyth, Bellies, Nicholls, and Miller. The minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed, The Treasurer reported a balance in Bunk of £1.156 10s 9d, and balance available for future expenditure £953 2s 6d. POPESPOHDENOE. Prom Mr A, Cameron, re<juesting tho Board to assist him in removing slips off the road in Makarikiri.—From Mr H, Wills, re stock straying oii the road.— From R. Wilsone, with return of amount expended by the County Council on the road from Kuhuuiingi to Tinui.—From Mr W, A, Buijing, requesting a grant towards opening ut road to his property.— From R, Wilsone, re postponement of County meeting.-From Mr Clifton, for permission to erect a gate on the Tinui Valley load, which was granted.—From Mr It. M. King, with account for chain, i'l.-Froin Colonial Secretary's office, with copy of order of the House for rcfuru required. The Clerk was directed to prepari a return and forward ft to the Goyernment, us requested ; and write to Mr Buriiug, asking the probable cost of the work required ; also to Mr Wills', drawing' his attention to section 101 of the Public Wwks Act. It was the sum of be expended in making side-cuttings, and repairs on Mataikuna-Pakowai line, That a sufficient sum bo granted for metalling the mad from the Telegraph Office to the school. No 2 Ward. That a sum of LlO be granted for repairs to the fords at Upper Whareama in No 2 and 3 Wards,

Doiin & Co., LBO 10a, accepted. And metalling aix chains in No 2 Ward, T. Stillborn, L3loa per chain, accepted ;C. Peach, L 3 15s per chain. Mr Nicholla gave notice that at next meeting he would ask that a sum should be "ranted to form and metal about 10 chains of the Casllupojut road, at the junction, with Tenui Valley road,'and also to metal from Ducrow'a creek; to the saddle towards Tenui. Tenders to be called for the work in the meantime, and that lenders be called for forming about 12 chains of road from Mr Wills to the foot of the hill ou Mr NicholU' proporty.
