THE ESTIMATES PASSED.
The House rushed the estimates through Inst night at a gallop, and when the Supplementary Estimates are brought down, little more business will be done. RAILWAYS BILL.
In the Legislative Council the second reading of the Railway Construction Bilj was carried by fifteen votes to nine. GOLD DUTY BILL.
The Gold Duty Abolition Bill was read a second time.
MATA'S DISQUALIFICATION,
The Wanganui Jockey Club Committee has endorsed the disqualification of Mala and the rider Ray.
A LUCKY MAN. Dunedin,
Fleming, nf the Pink of Fashion, a well-known bookmaker, has boen left a fortune of thirty thousand pounds, besides various residuary benefits. BONUS CLAIMED. Ksrapthorne, Prosser & Co. have manufactured 50 tons of sulphuric acid, and will claim the Government bonus of £SOO. WRECK OF THE TUI.

The steamer Tui, stranded at Waitar.i, is so mueh damaged that all present attempts to float her off are done at the risk nf totally losing her. She is two thirds insured.
