■ f [To the Editor of the Daily.] Sir—Homo time since a neighbor of mine had the misfortune to lose a child by death. The body was in due course laid in the Cemetery, and the usual fees were duly paid. Being anxious to mark the spot where the remains of his loved one lay, he had a small border and head board prepared, but when he asked permission to place the board in position flie pijsfodiati informed him that he must pay $ fee flf £J. before ho would be allowed to puf it ii) the (Jenjeteiy, I believe there arp other cases of similar nature, and I would ask through your columns if this is a desirable state of things in a country that boasts of its free institutions ?
