CASTLEPOINT HIGHWAY BOARD.

The balance for future expenditure was £735 17a Mr Hawkins attended with reference to .the alteration .of the boundary of the district, and a long discussion ensued res-! peoting the proposed new line, jthe Board being .of opinion that the new line should take the whole of Mr Mace's property into the Masterton district, while the settlers in the proposed new Ward and the Masterton' Highway Board objected, and wished to leave two soctions iu'this district on which the main road from Masterton to Tenui runs through. Ultimately the Board agreed that the whole of Mr Mace's property should remain in this, district, CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was then read;— From Public Works Office, re taking land for roads; from Burnett and. Yule, re timber ordered; from F. Taylor, with account for repairing roads; from T. H; Dillon, re Whareama river fords; from MrslStelin, re removing a few loadjof metal; from F. A. Sheath, re repairs to Mataikuna-Oastlepoim road; from George Harding, re Tollen's contract, Akitio; •from R, Wilsone, re Council meeting and Whareama Ferry. RESOLVED. That two members attend the next meeting of the Wnirarapa East County Council, on the 18th September, for the purpose of adjusting the new" boundary line between this and the Masterton dis< trict.

That the sum of £lO be added to the grant of £25 passed at the last meeting of the Hoard for road work on Bowlands, Upper Taueru. That the Bum of £6 be granted for repairs to the Teiiui valley road and that Mrs Rteliivs requeet to remove a few loads of "ravel bo agreed to. The following notioeß of nations were laid on Iho table:— That the sum of £?0 he grantod for side-cuttings and repairs to theMataikuiia Pakowai lino, and that tenders be called for about 34 chains of the side cuttings. That a sum «f £OO be granted for metalling from the Telegraph Office to the School and that tenders be called lor about G chains of metalling at A'hite creek on Tenui Alfredton line.
