We recently heard a gentleman whose opinion is entitled to weight, declare that the fox is infinitely superior to either staots weasels or ferrets as a natural enemy of rabbits, His theory was that rabbits increased faster than they conldbe killed and eaten by the smaller animals bpt Hie capacity of the fox to destroy rabbits was very much greater. No doubt the promoters of the movement for introducing the natural enemies of the rabbit will consider the claims of Reynard, and tbo cxpedienoy of importing him. Hen roosts would be in danger perhaps if foxes were introduced, If however fox hunting were some day to take the place of racing in New Zealaud to a certain extent, we should not altogether regret the change,
