Osborne had been useirig poison freely with good results,'.'.-Attention was called to the Government land between Messrs Stuckey and Tuck's.at Bangitumau,. which was; represented as swarming: with rabbits and was one of the worst' places in the district.. '•;:.. It.wasresoivedthatitbe aninstruction to tlie inspector to' notify Messrs Tuck; Gibsb'ni "and J. Dorset that unless more efficient steps are taken by them to destroy the rabbits on their properties proceedings would he taken .against them, it being the intention of the Trustees to enforce the 18th section of the Act against all landowners who failed to conform to to its provisions. Eesolved that the sum of i!l4 be spent in poisoning the Government land at Eangitumau. Tlie inspector was instructed to serve, notices on the native Paul in respect to land at the Pirau, and on the purchasers of sections 9 and 11, Opaki block, part of the.estate of the late W.E, Welch. ' A letter was read from Mr W. C. Buchanan concerning subscription list re introduction of natural enemies of the rabbit, and it was resolved that the inspector ho instructed to solicit subscriptions iu aid of the object. ' The payment of J26210s on account of phosphorus to Messrs Levin & Co was authorised, The meeting then adjourned to ICth July.
