GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting-of the Works .Committee of the Greytown Borough Council, was held on Monday last. Present, His Worship the Mayor, Councillors Haigh, Thompson, Wakelin and Fuller, A petition' was read from residents adjacent to the Pine creek; praying that instead of a box culvert being erected, the present bridge be extended on each side, It was resolved.—That the matter stand over till the next ordinary meeting of the Council, there being no tenders received, for the work.
■ The following tenders were then opened for work in West-staet;—H. Moras, £l2; W. Morris, £7 12s 9d; J. Brodie, £10; T. Wiggins, £9los; J. Inowles, £6los; W. Brooks, £6 ss. Accepted. Two tenders were received for bell tower as follows .'—Bishop and Hawkins,*£2O; H, Trotman, £l6 10s; as both tenders were above the estimate, it was resolved that neither be accepted. ' ■The meeting then adjourned.
