TARATAHI-CARTERTON HIGHWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the Wardens of the above Board was held at the office of the Board on 25th January. Present—Messrs W. Booth (Chairman), .Burton Boys, L. Nix, and Strawbridge. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. ' The Clerk reported bank balance to be L 333 103 Bd. The following accounts were passed for paymentlWcett & Co., L2 18s;
'Main Road, L 3 3s Od; Government Printer/ LI 7a 6d; Leo Bros., LI J J. Hannah, L2 2s.

Resolved—That the. reply to request of Messrs Johnson and others, and of Mr Waterson be held over until next meeting, when Mr Welch, Warden for that district, would report.

Waterson's line, i chains (more or less) drain, culvert, and formation: J, Knowles, at a total of L 7 ss; G, Waterson, of L 10; 0. H.. Ordish, of LB. Resolved—That the tender of Mr J. Knowles be accepted. Francis 1 line, 15 chains, formation, &o, and 30, chains metalling: J. Hannah, LI per chain, culvert Li>M, Wilder, 29s per chahi; J. Strawbridge, metalling 26s per chain, formation 20s; R. Butler and G. Stevens, formation 6s perjt ' i, culvertLl, metallinglls; J, DaysfiJlSjklr chain ; Jno. Hurt, 183 6d per Daysh, formation 9s per chain, metalling 14s -10 d. Resolved—That Butler and Stevens' tender be accepted. Resolved—That Mr Nix have authority to fell bush on Goodin's line, leading out of Park Road.
Resolved that Mr Boys be authorised to employ labor to break stones, prico not to exceed 2s 6d per yard. Resolved that tenders be oalled for 11 chains (more or less) metalling on Nix's line. , • Tlie meeting then adjourned;
