The Company is formed for the acquirement of existing interests, erecting necessary premises, procuring .additional machinery, and enlarging operations.. The Meat-preserving Plant (whioh, together with the Boiling Down Plant, has been recently fitted up in an ofucient manner) is capahlo of turning out SOOOlbs of Preserved Meat, in tins, por day ; it ineludes every appliance, andis in complete working order. _ The Slaughtering Promises and the principal buddings have been recently erected. The premises are situated close to the Upper Hutt .Railway Station, affording every facility for import and expo't, There is ample accommodation, with considerable acreage subdivided into suitable paddocks, well and securely fenced. The Provisional erectors have givon every consideration to the proposed undertaking, and being convinced jhat some such labor-providing industries are absolutely necosßary for this country, and having obtained the opinion of gentlemen competent to advise, as to the remunerative character of the business proposed, have not the slightest doubt as to the commercial success of the Company and invite co-operation to estabhsh this local industry. The Provisional Directors bolieve they will be liberally assisted to found what in then opinion is a necessary and suitable industry, a large proportion of tho material required in the manufactures being procurable in tho locality, The Establishment would afford employment to a great number of persons in many dictions, would give a great impetus to trade, and must prove remunerative and generally beneficial.
