WELLINGTON RACING CLUB SPRING PROGRAMME,

The Committee of the Wellington Racing Club met at the Empire Hotel on Wednesday evening, there being present —Dr Diver, and Messrs A. Young, W. V, Jackson, J. S. M. Thompson, and H, M. Lyon (secretary). Several letters were received from members of the Committee who were unavoidably absent,

The committee was unanimous with regard to the desirability of holding a spring meeting, but a discussion of considerable length was caused by the arrangement of the programme. It was eventually agreed, that a one day's race meeting should be held on Tuesday, the 30th November (St. Andrew's Day). The following programme was arranged:— , 1. Railway Stakes Handicap, of SOsovs. Three-quarters of a mile. Nomination, 1 sov, ; acceptance, 2 sovs. 2. Hurdle Handicap of 60 sovs. About two and a quarter miles. Nomination, 1 sov.; acceptance, 2 sovs. 3. Hack Hurdle Race, of 15 sovs, Minimum weight, 9st, About oue and a half miles.

4. Hutt Park Spring Handicap, of 125 sovs.: second horse to receive 25 sovs, faom the stakes. One and three-quarter miles. Nomination, 1 sov.; acceptance, 2 sovs;; final payment.(November 29), 2 SOW.:-;-..;;/-. ■: .V : . •'■ y ■-■■:'

5. Hack Race, of 10 sovs. Minimum weight, Bst 71b. One mile and a distance.

6. Consolation Handicap, of 30 sovs, One mile.

Nominations close on Wednesday, the 20th October ;_ weights will be declared mi Monday, 15th ■November;;' acceritimpes fall due a week later (Monday, 22nd November), and the final payment of 2 sovs. on the Hutt Park Spring Handicap, on Monday,"the 29th November," thi day before the race.
