To the Editor of the WintAßm Dailt,
Sir,—-I notice that at the Council meeting on Tuesday last Or Wbodroofe, with his usual good taste, made a personal attack on Or Vile, with reference to an unpaid Hoßpital,»ubßcription. It is only justice to Mr J." Vile to state that it was not his fault that his and other ', suWrip. tionß were in arrear. The Hospital Committee.employs a colleotor, whose duty it was 'to have'applied.to Mr Vile and his colleagues for their subscriptions, prior to the annual^nieeting.; The colleotor left this' duiy unfulfilled, and by hU u«gli-
gence placed'Mi;« Vile ' and' others in a position which, exposed them to illnatured remarks.
As Or .Woodroofe appear* to display an interest in Hospital matters, and as he is reputed to be a wealthy settler, I should be glad to see his name on the Hospital subscription list. fours, itc.,' J. Patrw, • lon. Treasurer, Mesterton Hospital,
