CASTLEPOINT HIGHWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held at Ten ui on Saturday last. All the members were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed The Treasurer reported balance available for future expenditure at £668 12a 3d, CORRESPONDENCE. From R, Wilsone, re Whareama ferrymini's salary ; from. Colonial Secretary, re. election of warden for No. 5 Ward; from 6. H. Lister-Kaye, requesting assistance in repairing the road to his property ; from J. E. Nathan, re road through his Tenui property. TENDERS. From H. McGuicken, 23 chains sidecutting at Akiteo, at £3 5s per per chain; from J. Tollens, at £3 per chain; from Mrs Stelin, for lease of Tenui toll-gate. "resolved. Tlwfc the Overseer's services be dispensed with, and that he receive three months' notice to that effect. That the Trustees of the Hall be requested to make a reduction in the rent. That Mr Nathan bo informed that the road in question passed into the hands of the Board prior to Mr Nicholl's disposing of the property, and with his consent. That £'l2 lie granted tor improving the road to Mr Lister-Kaye's property. That Mrs Sielin's tender for lease of the toll-gate be declined. That Mr Tolien's tender for side-cutting at Akilio he accepted. .hat £4O be expended in general repairs on Mataikuna-Pakowai line. That an additional sum of £5 be granted to complete repairs on the Upper Taueru line. That tenders be called for a side-cutting near Cripps'. That the surplus of the grant for Akitio be applied to the side-cutting on Akitio River, ' Notice of motion by Mr Miller—That a svin of £52 be expended on side-cuttiugs and clearing slips on Blairlogie line, uear Ciipps', Notice of motion by Mr Butters—That rule 12 of the Standing Orders be considered at i)est meeting; The following accouuts were passed for payment £ 8 D J.
