THE following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Masterton Highway Board held on the 20th inst the 25th clause of the Impoundjrjg Act, 1874 be brought into force in this which is as follows: i . " It shall be lawful for the occupier of any land adjoining any public highway to impound in the nearest public.pound any cattle which may be found wandering at large in such public highway, and any cattle so impounded shall, be dealt with in the same manner as cattle impounded und«r the provisions of this Act. Providing always that tho provisions of this section shall only apply to roads in respect of which any Highway Board may have passed a resolution as providod in the Ninetieth Section of the Highways Act, 1874.
