The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of th« Association such modification of thei land on deferred payment clauses of '-The Land Act, 1877, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of thos3 clauses. The Provisional Directors will also endeavor to make ample reserves for religious, educatio al, recreation and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to. the deputation which lately waited upon the Government.with a view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable considerati»n,
The payments are to be computed on some well-defined, liberal, and easily-understood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending jver a period of, say not Ibbs than ten (10) years, Each subscrib. ing member will be required to deposit a sum equal to ten per centum of the total Taltte of tka share of land he applies for before his abplication can be entertained, and a further payment of two per centum per month on said total value until fuch time as the block to be applied for is obtained by the Association, and possession can be given to the applicants, or until sach tiniß as the Association shall make arrangements with the Government for alloting land to the subscribers, provided alwaysthatsuoh monthly payments of two per centum do not extena to a further period than six months fram date of application.. _ All moneys received are to he paid into the Colonial Bank of New' Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees,-on fixed deposit bearing.interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque, against such account without the authority and:signatures of the Treasurer, one of the Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. ■ t Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association, will also be appointed in all the centres ef population throughout the provincial district as aOon as practicable; Terms of proposal and application for shares and other information connected with the Association may be procured from the provisional Directors, the Secretary, or at the Wellington Working Men's Club, Lambton Quay,'i' • Applications with amount of deposit to be lodged with the Colonial Bank of flew Zealand, Wellington.
