The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association such modification of the land on deferred payment clauses of ''The Land Act, 1877, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the pre-' sent provisions of thus; clauses. The Provisional Directors will also endeavor to make ample reserves for religious, educatio al, recreation and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with a view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration, The payments are to be computed on some well-defined, liberal,. and easily-understood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending jver a period of. say not less than ten (10) years. Each subscribing member wili be required to deposit a sum equal to ten per centum of the total value of th#,share of ,land he applies for before his application can be entertained, and a further payment of two per centum per month .on said total value until mch time as thtt block to be applied for isob-. tained by the'. Association, and possession can| be given ;to the applicants, or until sach time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Government for alloting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two per centum do not extend to a further period tha» six months from date of application. All moneys i&eived ate to ho paid into the Colonial Bank of New Zealand to the Association's account, t" be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authsrity and signatures of the Treasurer, one ef the Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. _ Afents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association, will also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district us aoon as .practicable.
