WAIRARAPA PASTORAL SOCIETY.

I A meeting of the Committee took place at the Society's office 011 Wednesday; 26th instant. Present-Messrs W. Booth (in the chair), Lister'Kaye, Drummond, Moore, Braithwaite, Nix, Boys, Buchanan, and Tancred. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. count of £l3O 10s 2d; and a debit to debenture account of £8513s 6d. It was found that fifteen debentures, amounting to £l5O, were still to be taken up, and four that had been issued, equivalent to a sum of £4O, were still unpaid. The total assets amount to £2497 Is Bd, the property being estimated at £2OOO.

The show account was next discussed, showing total receipts to be £lo7los, subdivided as follows—

Sale of catalogues ... 110 0 ' Entries .... , 40 1 6 Accounts incidental to the holding of the bliow, amounting to £11315s Id, were passed for payment. Some few accounts' were adjourned to next meeting. Letters were received from the Secretaries of the Carterton Riflg Volunteer Corps and local Good Templar Lodge, and John Barlow, applying for the uie of showground. The Secretary was instructed to insert fresh advertisements for tenders for leasing the show grounds. A resolution was passed tendering a vote of thanks to Messrs Boys and Snodgrass for their efforts in connection with the lunch given to the stewards, judges, and members of committee. Webb in 1870, got by Malton (A), dam Revoke (B), by bir Hercules (B)-Finesse by Lasß (A) -Flirt by Mariner (Arab). Malton A by Hampton—(by Rifleman, Centurion's dam), and to refer him to the explanatory note of references at the begining of the Stud Book. Mr Tancred's protest on behalf of Mr Paul was sustained, and, on the motion of Mr Buchanan, seconded by Mr Princess Mary was awarded lstprize, in lieu of Phoenix, disquali-

The judges expenses were then passed for payment. The Secretary was instructed to write all prize-winners, informing them of their success in competition. Also to write Mr, Hislop to have the medals for 1877 at once struck off, and transmit same without delay. Messrs Drummond, Booth, and ListerKaye promised to present cups for next year s show,

J lie business of the day was concluded by a full discussion on the present posiUun of-the Society, and, in order to start it with a clean sheet from the present date, Mr Booth notified his willingness to take up five more debentures if the remainder could be disposed of. The Committee adjourned about 6 o'clock p.m. to Monday, the sth January, 1880.
