Tlie Provisional Directors mil endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association such modification of the land on deferred payment clauses of '-The Land Act, 1877, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of Ihosj clauses. The Provisional Directors will also endeavor to make ample reserves for religious, educatio al, recreation and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lauds to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with a view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration, The payments arc to be computed on some well-defined, liberal, and easily-understood system of deferred payments, to 'be made by instalments extending rver a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each subscribing member will be required to deposit a sum equal to ten per centum of the total value of the share of land lie applies for before his abplication can be entertained, and a further pa.meutof two per centum per month on said total value until i uch time as the block to be applied lor is obtained by the Association, and possession can be given to the applicants, or until sach time as the Association shall make amusements v/itli the Government for alloting lauil to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two per centum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application. All moneys received arc to be paid into the Colonial Hank of Now Zealand to the Association's account, t" be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authority aud signatures of the Treasurer, one of the 'trustees, and thee Directors being first obtained. Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association, will also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial distiictas soon as practicable.
