WAIRARAPA PASTORAL SOCIETY.

The final meeting of the Committee of the above Society, prior to the show, took place at its office, Carterton, on Friday, 14th instant. Present Messrs Moore (in the chair), Lister-Kaye, Braithwaite, and Nix

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from Mr E. J. Riddi ford, agreeing to act as one of the judges for cattle, and Captain Corbett for dogs, other than coolies.

Letter from Mr Hislop, agreeing to the proposal of the Committee as to £2l cup for horses.

A telegram from Mr 6. Beetham, that Messrs Moorhouse and McDonald would act as judges for blood horses, and Messrs Hursthouso and McDonald for sheep, The duties being onerous, Mr McDonald was selected as one of the judges for sheep only, A letter was read from Messrs Hastwell, Macara & Co., that they would run passengers from Featherston to Carterton and return on the 18th, 19th, and 20th, at Is, 6d per head ; a ticket issued on the 18th or 19th to be available for return up to and inclusive of the 20th.

Mr Lister-Kaye was appointed a member of the Committee and took his seat,

Re sale of catalogues, Mr Braithwaite undertook to obtain the services of a settler, Mr Braggins, of Greytown, being named, if he were willing to act, Messrs Moore and Braithwaite undertook to secure the services of a competent gatekeeper.'

It was resolved the men employed on the ground on the day of the show by the Society, should wear a white distinguishing badge on the arm.

Messrs Brown and Frethey were nominated as the Secretary's assistants on the day of show. The remainder of the sitting was occupied in revising a proof of the catalogue. Some entries were not accepted, being sent in after the date appointed for the closing of the list. The providing a lunch for the judges, etc., was left to Mr T.Ray. The Committee adjourned at about 4.30 p. in.
