On Monday night last, a special summoned meeting of the Loyal Masterton Lodge of Odd Fellows assembled to receive the Provincial Grand Master of the Weiliaa[tou District. The Lodge was attended by the largest number of members' which has, as yet been gathered together, only three members being absent, Bro. A, Bish, I*l. G., presided, and the Provincial Grand Master was received on his arrival by Bro. Copping, P.P.D.G.M., and Bro. jJalrymple, P.G., who conducted'him to Ins chair. The brethren greeted their distinguished visitor with grand honors, After being addressed from the chair, thanking him for liia courtesy in visiting Masterton, the Provincial Grand Master responded, speaking of the Masterton Lodge ill the most flattering terms. After the close of the Lodge, the brethren sat down to a supper, provided by Bro. Corbett of the Empire Hotel, in his usual sumptuous style, and a very harmonious evening was spent,

A well-attended meeting of the Union' Club, Masterton, was held last evening. About forty members were present; Mr Dalryinple, the President, in the chair. The chairman congratulated the members on the success which had attended the formation of the Club, aud showed that it was now a financial success, The secretary, Mr Ghinchen, then read the balancesheet, which indicated that the Union Club was in a satisfactory position as regards ways and means. The election of officers was then proceeded with. Mr Dairy mplc was unanimously re-elected 1 resident; Mr J. Williams, Treasurer; ivlr Ghinchen, Secretary; and Messrs Wyllie, Girdlestone, Sutton, Gattscha, and Pilkington were elected as a Committee for the ensuing quarter. A vote of thanks to the office-bearers and to the Custodian concluded the business of the meeting. The members then adjourned to the large room of the Club, where an excellent supper was spread, The remainder of the evening was spent in doing justice to the same. The healths of the office-bearers and custodian were duly honoietl, and the meeting separated after spending a very pleasant evening,
