CARTERTON
[from our own correspondent] 1 August 20,1879. I A meeting of the Dramatic Club tools place on Monday evening, when Mr E. E.| Edmunds was elected stage manager m the place of Mr T. Bennett, resigned. It was decided to advertise the forthcoming entertainment in both the local papers. A few accounts were passed, leaving a fair balance in the hands of the Treasurer, and some other formal business transacted. The usual weekly drill of the Volunteers took place last night. There was but a small muster, and the drill was made short to make room for Mr Beetliam's meeting.
