A meeting of Mr Beetham's Committee was held here on Saturday evening when Mr T. Hooker was appointed Chairman, and the views of the various candidates for the public suffrages duly discussed, Arrangements as to the canvassing of the District are to be settled at the Committee meeting this evening, Mr Bunny's Committee hold their first meeting to-night.
The contract for the Greytown Branch Line (formation only) has been taken oy Messrs Bennett and Potts at £B6O.
