RABBIT PROOF FENCING
To tht Editor of the Wairarapa jjaily. As it is probable there will be some legislation on the rabbit plague this session under which rates will be levied to pay for their destruction, I suggest that in any enactment on the subject a clause should be inserted entirely exempting from any of its provisions, any and every piece of land that is enclosed with a rabbit proof fence, of either wire netting or pales, nitting to be three feet wide two inch mesh, pales three and a-half feet long put close., Having imported six miles of above netting, enclosed this farm and thereby quite preventing either ingress or egress, it would be manifestly unfair that I should have to pay rates for destroying rabbits on other people's land,—l am, &c, J. Tuck. Hawkhurst, July 25,1879.
