NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING.
A Fisherman, named Delamare, wlicMH has deen living for some weeks with affi Frenchman and his wife at Kaiigitoto,® had a narrow escape of losing his life H during the recent storm. Delamare was D accustomed to sleep in his friend's boat H on the shore, as thore was 110 room for ■ him in the whare, and on Thursday night j™ while the storm was raging, and he fast asleep, the little boat drifted out to sea. < When lie awoke he found that the was bounding rapidly along the channel, and lie without ours. The unfortunate man was in a sad dilemma and gave himself up for lost. The boat continued to drift about until two o'clock this morning, when it was dashed against the rocks.at the North Head, and Delamare cast upon the sands in an exhausted state, He was found this morning by a near resident, and assisted with refreshment and other necessaries.. Mr Pcrrut hearing of his countryman's misadventure, brought him over, sorely bruised, to the Blue Post Boarding-house, where he is recruiting his energies.
