THE AUCKLAND STUD COMPANY.
Within tho last few days a company has boon formed under tlio title of tho" Auckland Stud Company." Their object is to breed for annual salo tho most fashionablo and esteemed thoroughbreds Jnd draught stock. They have purchased from Messrs Maclean & Co., and Major Wahnsley, the whole of their thoroughbred stock, including the celebrated stallion Musket, for which tho large sum of £3,500 was offered by an Australian breeder, They have also purchased from Messrs T. and S. Morrin tho whole of their draught stock, including imported Clydesdalo entire Elgin (which.cost landed in Auckland £1000.) Elgin Tils'purchased by Mr John Hunter, the w«l ; known judge of Clydesdales both in Sr/rtland and England, who received a carte blanche to buy tho best Clydesdalo entire procurable; and the imported draught siro'Prince Arthur, whoso stock is not to bo excelled in New Zealend, together with some high class Mares, two year-olds, yearlings and foals. The Company have secured the Glen Orchard estate, and arrangements have been made with Mr Bichard Taylor to graze any stock they may require upon his valuable property adjoining. Major Walmsley has been appointed resident managing director.— Herald.
