In regard to a lettor relating to tho Eketaliuna school, Mr Beotham said lie understood legal action for libel had been taken by Mr Petherick against Mr Greon, , founded upon tho letter addressed by the latter to the Board. In consequence Mr King had been authorised by Mr Beotham to report upon the building. 10WJ3R lIUTT SCHOGIr. A resolution was received from tho chairman of the committee stating that they viewed with regret tho resolution of tho Board, and asked for tho matter to be reconsidered. Mr Bunny moved, and Mr Paterson seconded, " that the sum of £l2O be expended at onco in the additions to the teacher' 3 residence, which had been askod for." j CARTERTON, A letter was road from the local com- • mitteo stating that they considered that the Bolvidero School was premature. [ It was resolved that the resolution of the committee should bo forwarded to the , petitioners, PROPOSED HIGH SCHOOL, ; The Secretary of tho Featherston School Committee, Mr Gurr, wrote asking the Board to appoint the Featherston school . a high school under the Act.
