LONDON WOOL SALES.
(l'Elt PHESS AGENCY.) Duxedin, May 27, Messrs Carqill, Gibbs & Co, have received the following telegram' as to the wool market from Messrs Helmuth, Sohwarfcze & Co., dated London, 23rd MayA good tone prevails in the sales, Prices for Port Philip and Sydney grease (wether) higher, particularly medium wools, For Adelaide and New Zealand grease prices are unchanged. Prices for the bulk of fleece are as depressed as at last sales, and the improvement in prices for cross-bred as lately telegraphed is not maintained. Prices for superscoured are firm, while prices for Port Philip and Sydney superfine fleece aro as lo\v as at the end of last scrio3. Trade with Germany is good, but ratlierlit in England and France.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co, report'under date London, May '2l'The wool sales aro progressing firmly. Competition of both home and foreign buyas is active, Up to date 105,000 bales have been sold.
The wheat market is quiet; Adelaide is worth 4Ss. Mutton tallow, 345; beef, 42s per cwt., and there is no speculative demand. Town milled flour is cheap. There are heavy arrivals of North American. Leather, best sides, !)Jd,
