WAIRARAPA INSTITUTE.

A committoe meeting was held last Thursday evening. .Present Messrs Skeet (chairman), Bock, Baillie, Brooks, Stcnhouse, and Webster. The minutes of the provious meeting were read and confirmed. The following accounts were passed for payment;—M. Caselberg & Co., £4 4s fed ; Lyon and Blair, L 8 13s 6d; Wairarapa Standard, 0s; History of the Sea, LI 8s; Mr St.- George, 17s. It was resolved that an account forwarded by Messrs Holloday and Co. be referred back for correction, It was resolved that all papers ordered through Messrs Holloday and Co. be stopped, and same to bo taken through Mr St. George. It was resolved that Mr Bock be requested to ascertain cost of printing the catalogue of books on slips from the Standard office.

It was resolved that tho Book Committee be authorised to employ a carpenter to make the necessary alterations in the shelves and the swinging door. It was resolved that Mr Skeet bo asked to have the necessary repairs done to the roof of the Institute, he agreeing to bear half the exppnse. It was resolved that half-a-dozen receipt books be ordered to be printed at tiie Standard office.

• An expression of regret was given for the loss of Mr H. L. Bymas a committeeman. He had been a long time connected with the Institute, and always had the interests of the place at heart. It was decided not to appoint a committeeman till the annual meeting, which shortly takes place. The business concluded with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
