THE NEW LAND-BUYING COMPANY.
• The following extract from a letter received by the kt mail, by a settlor of the district, from a London friend is (says thojfouthland Times) suggestive of tlio recepnpn tlio new agricultural company is receiving at home" My mind lias been occupied lately with a large agricultural company- that yogel, Larnacli, ■j Tancred, and others, are getting up to ' buy up and work a lot of estates in your neighborhood. The tiling reads well, so I sent for their prospectus, asked So-and-so, a director and acquaintance, if ho could get me on tho Roard, and set my j friends in motion to find out all about it,
and work up interest. What I did not understand was why tliey should bo giving nearly L 7 an acre for land when you were willing to sell for L 4 or L4los, The result of my inquiries is that the company is considered a bubble in the city, got up by people who wish to sell their own land, and to coutinue iu possession as managing directors; so lam urged to give it a wide berth, and I think I shall do so. In case you may not have seen it, I send you a prospectus from tho Daily Telegraph.
