Written Tenders will be received at this office up to noon on MONDAY, the 19th May, 1879, for the supply and delivery of 100,000 Sleepers, to be delivered at Grahamstown, Shortlaud, Kirikiri, Turin, Hikutaia, or Paeroa. They must he addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside " Tender for Sleepers, Waikato-Thames Railway." Specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Grahamstown, New Plymouth, AVanganui, Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson, Cbristchurch, Duncdin, Oamar'u,' Invercargill, Westport and Hokitika; at the Railway Stations Palmerstoii North, Napier, Ashburton, Timaru, Eiverton, and Greymouth ; and at the Post Offices at Hamilton (Waikato), and Groytown (Wairarapa). Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, mil be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form arc lodged at a'District ov Resident Engineer's Office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for one month, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's Deposit Account only, aud not to bearer or order.
