The promoters of the above Company having leased the Town Hall, Masterton, for a term of 21 years, have determined to effect certain alterations and additions by which the building can be transformed into a Theatre suitable to the requirements of the rapidly rising town, and it has ken clearly ascertained that the building as altered will be adequate for the performance of Theatrical and Opeiatie Companies, which in times past would have visited the district had there been suitable accommodation. It lias further been proved, without doubt, that the income hitherto derived from the Town'lTall, even in its extremely miserable state, has been more than a paying one. Plans have been prepared by an experienced architect, and an estimate given, whereby the alterations as mentioned above can be made
for a sum of £6OO.
