FORESTER'S SPORTS GREYTOWN.

The Forester's assembled at their Hall, at about 9,30. on Monday morning and formed a procession through the town in which about4o members of the order took part. They were headed by the Carterton Brass Band, and the beautiful Banner of Court Wairarapa, No. 5354, which was inscribed on one side with the symbols of the order and on the reverse side a picture indicative of the motto which surrounded it (viz) " united we stand divided wo fall," The day remained very fine, although fears were entertained that rain would set in before the sports were over, The attendance at the sports was very large and every one seemed to enjoy themselves, and the competition for each event was keen and drew some fresh candidates for athletic honors into the field, The arrangements were very good and not a hitch ocourred to disturb the pleasure 1 of the day, We must thank the members of the committee and the secretary for their kindness in furnishing every information in their power. The following is a list of events, as they occurred. Maiden Race—lsoyards; Ist prize 255. There were seven entries for this event which was a good race, there was a mishap atthe start one man losing his equilibrium, Maxton. Ist Saywell 2nd

There was a protest entered against Harrison for jostling and he was debarred from running again* ', Boys Race—loo yards, Ist prize, 7s Gd; 2nd, 2s fid. There were five entries, They wero sent away to a good start ending in. , E. King Ist 1 Beard ... 2nd

Easily won. Hurdle Race—j-mile; Ist prize 355. | There were four entries for this race. W, Hodge, (scratch), A. Vile, (scratch), G. Say well, (5 yards), and' L. Svendsen,| (7 yards). This was only a race between Hodge and Saywell, the other two falling outearly, Saywellkept the lead throughout and won easily. Time 1| mins, Saywell ... There was a match run on the course for a pound a side between Hanson and T. Reed, the former giving Reid 14 yards in a hundred and then beating him easily.
