PROPOSED RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE MASTERTON FARMERS' CLUB.

■ 1 No, 1, That the name of the Club ho " The Mastcrton Farmers' Club."

2. That the objects of the Club he as followsTo promote discussion on subjects connected with agriculture ; the encouragement of agriculture in general; breeding and general management of stock ; the encouragement of .local industries; construction of farm buildings; the suppression of rabbits, destructive birds, Sx,; the manufacture and improvement of implements: planting of trees; drainage and general management of land, (including ploughing matches); aud to provide a room for tho use of members to transact business, &c., to contain the leadiug agricultural papers and publications, and the market price of all farm produce; also for the exhibition, of samples for sale or otherwise, in order to establish an equitable market. 3. That the Club do consist of a President, two Vice-Presidents, Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Secretary, and members.

4 That the business of the Club be managed by a President, two Vice-Presidents, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, and a Committee of not less than two members, to be elected annually at the general meeting, and that in the event of a vacancy occurmg in any office between the annual meetings, tho same to be filled uj> by the Committee. 5. That each member do pay the sum of twenty shillings per annum, 6. That the annual general meeting of members of the Club bo held on tho first Saturday in April, at which the report of the Committee and balance-sheet shall be sub T mitted, duly audited. 7. That tho Hon. Secretary do lieep a regular set of books, to be furnished from tho funds of the Club, containing an account of tho receipts and disbursements, and sums due to the Club by mcmbersand others; and also a record of votes and proceedings of committoe and general meetings, and preserve all communications made to the Club, and all correspondence, 8. That there be quarterly meetings of the Committee, of which the general meeting shall be one, and of which meetings duo notice shall bo given of the time and place ; also that meetings of the Club bo held on the second Wednesday in every month, at 7 p.m., at Mristcrton, 9. That all moneys received on account of the Club be paid to tho Treasurer, who shall place tho sum in the Bank to the credit of the Club, such Bank to be appointed by the Committee. No payments shall be made by the Treasurer unless previously authorised by a meeting of the Committee, such payments to be made by cheque, signed by the Secretary and Treasurer.

10, That at evory meeting of the Committee five members shall form a quorum ; and all questions shall be decided by a majority of votes or show of hands, the Chairman having an original and casting vote.

11. That at every meeting of the Club or Committee, as the case may be, the President shall act as Chairman, if present; in his absence the Vice-President ; in tho absence of both, tho meeting shall appoint a Chairman for the day.

12. That no member shall be entitled to vote at any meeting whose subscription has not been paid. 13. That every person desiring to joiu the Club be proposed and seconded by members, his election to be decided by ballot, to be taken at the next meeting. In the event of one-third of the Club present voting against any proposed new member, it shall exclude such member.

14. That all proposed subjects of discussion shall be duly notified at a meeting previous to Hie one at which the discussion is to take place.

15. That two strangers may, be admitted by any menber, but if resident within live miles only one; they may take part in the debate, but not vote, The sous nf members under twenty-one years of age shall have free admittance to the meetings.

IG. That on a requisition being signed by any ten members of the Club the President shall call a special meeting. 17. The Committee shall have power to appoint a paid Secretary to do all flie necessary work.

18. That any member wishing to alter or add to any of the above liules, mnst give notice in writing to the Secretary at the meeting previous to a quarterly meeting, wheu it eliall be determined by vote.
