Befora'H.S.WMdoll,Esq.,llM. , Robert Woodman was charged by Constable Brunskill, with having on tlie 15th inst,, stolen from the Railway goods-shed at Featherston, one case of brandy, one case of jam, and a mat of sugar. Prosecutor deposed that he was on duty about three o'clock in the morning, when lie saw a man carrying a load on his back which lie put down, wont away and shortly returned with another load in a side, when ho went up to him to arrest him, prisoner fell on his knec3 and offered prosecutor £2O if lie would let him go, but he was convoyed to the lock-up. His Worship sentenced prisoner to she months hard labor, as the charge.was fully proved by the prosecutor and his witnesses. T. A. Shirley v. G. Roberts—Judgment summons, £3 53; order for payment made.

T. Sheeran v. B. McKay. —Wages £7 2s, Judgment for amount and costs. J. Gurr v. 0. Revans.-Olaim, £l3 12s 3d. Mr Parker for plaintiff, £l3 Gs 2d paid into court. Defendant ordered to pay costs.

Constable Cornier charged Samuel Johnson with having on the 17th February, at Carterton, stolen one tin of salmon from Jameson's store. Prisoner pleaded guilty, but said he was drunk at the time. Sentenced to five days hard labor, II Morris v. 0. J. Collins.—Detinue value, £47; Mr Beard for plaintiff. Judgment for £25 and costs.
