A large topsail schooner ran ashore about 3 o'clock to-day whilo taking the bar, There was very little wind but a good deal of surf on the bar, and it is supposed a little sand bank had been thrown lately upon which she grounded coining into the rivor. There has been no communication with her yet, though she is close to shore ; neither is her name known, though it is supposed to be the Elibank Castle, heavily loaded with a cargo of coal or produce. Sho was coming in as the Glenelg was going out to go to work at the Hyderbad, and tho signalman signalled to take the bar. The Glenelg, however, turned back and came up the river, tho bar not serving apparently. The Hyderbad is still in the same position, and, as the weather is fine, is' being pumped out, to be ready when the Glenelg comes. If the schooner was lightened, with this fair weather sho might be got off. It is expected that arrangements of that kind will be made as soon as the Captain can come ashore.
