(BI TELX9BAFH.) ADDINGTON MARKET. January 25. There Tas a fairly large yarding of etoek, though the weather affected the tending in of consignments to some extent. There wae a fair attendance. Store sheep met with a keen demand and fat lambs were firm. Beef was again easier, though without much quotable change in values. Bacon pigs sold well, while there was not such a good demand for porkers, and there were only a few stores in. Sheep—The yarding of store sheep was made. Up principally of lambs, and the better quality sold at an advance of 6d t-> 9d per head on the previous week’s rates. There was a keen demand for sound mouth breeding ewes, and a fair enquiry for goed quality wethers. The principal lots sold well; 90 ewes mixed ages 19s 6d, 148 sound mouth 18s 6d, 154 at 17s Bd, and others 17. 5d to 18s 6d, 30 wethers 18s, 60 at 16s 7d, 50 at 16s 6d, 50 from the Chatham Islands at 16s 3d, and 90 merino wethers 14,; 112 lambs at 15s, 85 at 14s lOd, 280 at 14s 9d, 340 at 14s Bd, 120 at 14a 7d, 182 at 14s 4d, 104 at 14», and 70 at 12s lOd. Lambs—There were about 2000 fat lambs penned, and there was a good competition throughout the sale, there being only small pens. Butchers lots therefore sold better than freezing lines, and prices were firm at the previous week’s rates. For freezers tne range of prices was tegs up to 21s, prime freezers 17s to 18s 3d, and lighter 15s 6d to 16s 6d. There was a medium yarding of fat iheep, and the market opened at about the previous week’s rates. Cattle—There were 183 fat cattle of prit quality penned and the sale was again rather dull, and values showed a further Blight reduction. Steers made £6 15s to £lO ss, heifers £5 2s 6d to £7 5, and cows £5 to £7 2s 6d; equal to 17s 6d to 21s per 100 lb. Veal calves were in fair supply and sold at 6s to £2 14s. Pigs: There was a small yarding of fat pigs, baconers selling at the previous week’s rates, while small porkers were much eltsier. The few stores in brought late prices. Baconers made 35s to 50s, equal to 4d, io 4Jd per lb, and porkers 25s to 355, equal to 4|d to 4Jd per lb.
