The Zoinists.
(Sydney, December 5
A strange case is btnng investigated by the Coroner at Ashtield, where a woman died after accouchement. She refused to permit the nurse to get a doctor, preferring to commit her case to the prayer of her people. The woman belonged to the Zionists, and the pastor and deacons were called in and prayed continuously for the recovery of the woman. The Coroner's jury returned a verdict of manslaughter against Alexander Johnston, the husband of the woman who piaced her trust in faith-healers.
The jury took the view that her husband should have insisted on medical attendance.
The Coroner, in addressing the jury, pointed out how good, simple, well-meaning persons had been led away by faith-healers' teaching from the line of conduct other people would have followed. This poor woman, whose death th«y had enquired into, had been led away by these doctrines, and h|d sacrificed her life. The Coronli* hoped that such tenets would not Bpread among the community for they were not only deplorable, but dangerous and cruel.
