Deceased wai very w<dl liked hereabouts, being a young ln.ui of steady and recognised ability. Mr .Stevenson had been stationed iu the North Island only about two month-, when he was attacked with the illness which cut oIT a promising life. What nukes the event more sad is the fact that deceased was to have been married at the end of the year to a young lady of l hi- district. The greatest sympathy is felt and expressed on all sides with the late Mr Stevenson's people and relative*.
