Waimate Hospital Board.
The monthly meeting of the Waimate Hospital -Board wag held on Tuesday, Messrs J. Sinclair (chair), W. J. Hardie, A. Bitchener and E. J. Atwill being present.
The Surgeon's report showed five males and seven females in tl)<i Hospital at last return ; ten males and eight females admitted during the month; seven males and eight females discharged ; leaving eight males and seven females still under treatment.
The Matron reported that £7 10s 9d had been paid during the mouth by patients. Mr Atwill reported for the visitors that everything was satisfactory, except that the roof was leaking in places. The Chairman said that during the month Dr Macgregor, the Government Inspector of Hospitals, had visited the Institution and had expressed his pleasure at its appearance and management.
The Chairman also stated that Miss Chapman, the matron, had met with an accident during the month, having the small bone of her leg broken.
It was resolved to send a letter of sympathy to Mrs Chapman.
Messrs Sinclair and Bitchener were appointed visitors for the month.
Accounts amounting to £9B lis 5d were passed and the Board rose.
