- - Aooording to direction by the committee on the above subject, on Wedne«day, October 14, Revs Barclay and Morrison interviewed the Mothers' Union on the subject of carrying out the contemplated plebiscite. On Mr Barclay fully explaining the subject and what was required to be done, the meeting cordially fell in with the project, undertaking to distribute the voting pppers and to collect them again. The papers are to be left at Ithe houses of the borough and its immediate neighbourhood, with the request that those signing should plainly write " Yes " or " No." On the return of the papers the committee will count the votes one way or another and publish the results. It was pointed out that the plebiacitea, up to this, taken elsewhere show a vast majority for some movement of the kind, add the hope was expressed that at a'i events all parties to whom papers may be delivered will sign tbem pro or con, and safely return them to the persons calling for them
