o SATURDAY AUCTION. Messrs Guinness and LeCren' report as follows on this sale : Pigs—There was a large entry of pigs, and prices were above late rates, Weaners, 6s to 12s; stores, 13s to 22s 6d. Poultry —Roosters, from 2s 2d to Bs 4d per pair ; hens at same figures ; turkey gobblers, 6s to 6s 6d each ; turkey hens, 3s 9d to 4s ; drakes, Is lOd each ; ducks, Is lOd each. Potatoes—Best Derwents, 7s to 7s 6d ; others, from 6s; Derwent seed, 7s ; Swedes, 2s 3d ; fowl wheat, 10s.
HORSE SALES. The Canterbury Tanners’ Co operative Association, Limited (per Mr J. Mundell, auctioneer), report on the horse and cattle* market at Tattersall’s yards at Timaru on Saturday as follows :—Our entry comprised 45 draught, light harness and hackney horses. The major portion of the yarding consisted of young, active draught mares and geldings. One special line of draughts from Otago included exceptionally good horses. The public showed appreciation of their quality by keen bidding, and most satisfactory prices were realised. We quote prices as under Draughts, young with trials, £3l, £32, £33 10s, £37, £3B. £39 10s, £4O, £43, to £47; ditto, light and aged, £l9 10s, £22, £24 10s, £25 10s, £26 to £2B; light harness horses, £l2, £ls, £l6 10s, £lB to £l9 10s ; hackneys, £6 10a, £8 to £9. Traps, harness and sundries all sold under keen competition.
