Bowling.

A special committee meeting of the Waimate Bowling Club was held yesterday afternoon, there being present Messrs W. L. Scott (chair), W. H. Beckett. C. Akhurst.F. Akhurst, H. Wilson, and J. P. Smith (hon. sec.). Apologies were received from Messrs Coltman and Nicol. The question of appointing a caretaker was discussed, and Mr J. Ravenhall was appointed to that position. The following new members were elected :—Messrs B. Flynn, A. J. Cox, G. 11. Graham, P. Grant, J. Kirkland, and A. Inkster. A letter was read from the Oamaru Bowling Club, inviting all the members of the Waimate Club to attend the opening of their green on Thursday next. The committee expressed the wish that as many members as possible should accept the invitation,' A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
