Waihao Sports Association.

0 The annual meeting of the Waihao Sports Association was held on Friday evening, there being about 40 members present. Mr J. Callaghan occupied the chair. Arnott, M. Kennedy, W. Nelson, J. and M. Cooney’, T. Huston, A horsyth, 'I . Scales, M. Ryan, M. Crowe, M. McAteer, J. MoTaggart, P. Flaherty, T. Hawkins, R. Kirkcaldy, and T. Mclnernay. In recognition of his work on behalf of Morven district, it was decided to name the new park after the Hon. W. J. Steward. It was resolved to hold the sports on December IG, and the committee are to submit a draft programme of events to a general meeting in a fortnight’s time. The question of an entertainment on the evening of sports day 7 was left to the committee. Messrs Callaghan, Corrigan, Cooney, Cro\\e, and Ryan were appointed to lay off the track and make other arrangements.
