Volunteer Notes.

(by advance guard.)

The Studholme Mounted Eifles go into camp for a week on October 16th.

Studholme Mounted Rifles open the shooting season on Thursday, September 18th, when Mr Binney’s cup will be shot for.

A meeting of the Sports committee will be held to-day at 3 p.m. A meeting of the shooting committee of the Waimate Rifles was held last evening, when last season’s rules were revised and a programme drafted. It was decided to replace the revolving targets at present in use with the more up to date shutter targets. The secretary was instructed to write to the Traders’ Association asking for a donation to the prize fund.

A» inspection parade of the Waimate Rifles will be held on Wednesday next at 7.30 p.m.
