Sir W. Laurier, the Canadian Premier, speaking in Paris advocated an Anglo-French alliance as a guarantee of universal peace. It iB reported that Sir W. Laurier is Willing to concede French products imported into Canada a measure of preference if Canadian products are admitted to France at the mimium tariff.
The War Office is making experiments with a new 18pr. field gun, which promises to be superior to anything in the possession of other Powers.
